About the place

The marina was built between 2006 and 2008, mostly with EU Phare funds. It has 146 berths for pleasure boats up to 18 metres long, with water and power at each one, and it is naturally sheltered from strong winds. You can walk along the quays among the yachts, with restaurants and bars around.

Boat trips leave from here for Vama Veche, 2 Mai, Neptun, Olimp, Costinești, Eforie and Constanța. A few hundred metres to the south stands the Genoese Lighthouse (Farul Genovez), built between 1858 and 1860, with a sundial on its façade. The town's seafront promenade, which runs north from here, has been redeveloped.

Good to know

  • Boat trips run mainly in summer; ask the operators in the port which trips are on that day.
  • Avra Port and Restaurant Milano, both on our list, are right here.
  • The Esmahan Sultan mosque and the Callatis museum are a few minutes' walk away.
